SWBBA have the greatest pleasure and privilege to confirm that, as part of their National Milestone Workshop Tour, ex-Cory Band legends, Glyn and Helen Williams will be tutoring SWBBA's next workshop on Saturday 22nd November 2025 from 10am to 5pm at St Francis of Assisi Church Hall, Woolbrook Road, Sidmouth, Devon, EX10 9XB.
Glyn and Helen are both celebrating significant personal and brass band involvement milestones and we are delighted that they have chosen to include SWBBA in their schedule.
Once again we thank Sidmouth Town Band, who have generously lent their superb band room for the occasion.

Fees (all ages) for the day are:
* For players of SWBBA Member Bands - £35
* For players of non-SWBBA Member Bands (or no particular band) - £45
PLEASE CHECK YOUR BAND ARE SWBBA MEMBERS BEFORE PAYING THE APPROPRIATE FEE (payment details are on the application form).
For players of all brass band instruments (sorry, we are unable to cater for percussionists), numbers are capped at 60 so get your application in before it's too late!

You will need to bring a packed lunch, your instrument, a music stand (if you have one - we can provide a limited number) and a pencil! Music will be provided. There is parking at the hall or on the roads nearby.

Applications accepted on a first come, first served basis.
The Workshop will be held at West Buckland School near Barnstaple North Devon on Saturday February 14th and Sunday February 15th 2026. Registration will be at 09.30 hours on Saturday with the course commencing at 10.00 hours and a finish at 17.45 hours. On Sunday arrive 9.30 hours to commence playing at 10.00 hours with a course finish at 16.00 hours with a free concert for friends and family.
We are delighted to announce that we have acquired the services of three famous and extremely talented names in the brass band world for our popular event.
Christopher Bond, Musical Director of The GUS Band as well as composer, arranger, adjudicator and since 2015, Composer in Residence to the Cory Band.
Tom Smith, Principal Cornet with Brighouse & Rastrick Band, Besson Artist and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music.
Siôn Rhys Jones, Principal Euphonium with Tredegar Town Band having also played with Cory Band. He is a teacher in both music and Welsh as well as having achieved multiple successes conducting the Cross Keys Silver Band.
SWBBA are sure as always that the workshop will be in high demand. As in previous years there will be an excellent choice of food available at very reasonable costs. Tea and coffee will be provided free of charge as always. We look forward to welcoming participants both old and new.
